Art Contests
Toyota Dream Car Art Contest: Held annually since 2004, Toyota invites kids under the age of 16 to submit a "handwritten color artwork of a dream car with the background (drawing not only a dream car but also its conceptual situation to be understood by everyone easily)". Deadline is August 2013. Award winners will be invited to Japan to attend Award Ceremony in August 2013.
Land's End Kids Holiday Art Contest: This year's theme is "get together"; consider the fun things you like to do with your family and friends during the Christmas break every year and use that for inspiration for this fun art contest for kids. Kids who are 12 years or younger are invited to participate in the contest; deadline to enter is September 20, 2013. Judging will be done in three age categories (1-6) (7-9) (10-12), with a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winner in each category. First place winners will receive a $500 Land's end gift card; second place winners will receive a $250 gift card; third place winners will receive a $100 gift card.
4th Annual Frogs Are Green Art Contest: The 2013 theme for this annual kids' art contest is "how will you help save frogs and amphibians?". Submit an original artwork in any medium you choose (painting, drawing, collage, etc.) by December 15, 2013 to enter. First place winner will receive a poster of their choice from Frogs Are Green online store; all participants will be able to download a certificate for entering. The Children's Place Cash for Class Sweepstakes: Parents must enter on behalf of the child; write a 100 word essay explaining what you'd like to do when you grow up and draw an optional picture as well (photo of drawing should be uploaded with contest submission). Entries are due by September 30, 2013; grand prize is a $10,000 check; first place is $5,000; second place is $2,500; third place is a $1,000 gift card to The Children's Place.
US Kids Magazine Cover Contest: The 2013 theme for this annual kids' art contest is "If I Had a Superpower". Kids ages 3-12 who are US residents may create and submit an original, previously unpublished drawing by February 28, 2013. First place winner will have art work featured on age appropriate magazine (judging is in three categories: 3-5 (Turtle Magazine), 5-7 (Humpty Dumpty Magazine) and ages 7-12 (Jack and Jill Magazine). First, second and third winners will also be given checks to be donated to their school art programs. 1st place $1,500, 2nd place $1,000, and 3rd place $500.
Lion's Club International Annual Peace Poster Contest: Contest is for kids ages 11, 12, and 13 only. Grand prize is $5000 and a trip to a special award ceremony with the sponsoring club president and two family members at Lions Day with the United Nations (subject to change). The theme for 2013-14 is "Our World, Our Future". Deadline to submit poster is November 15th.
Animal Rescue Kid's Art Contest: Art contest for kids ages 16 and under. Enter this monthly contest by submitting a drawing of their favorite animal. Winner and five runners up will receive "animal rescue" prize package.Crafty Kids Monthly Art Contest: This is a monthly art contest open to kids ages 12 and under. First prize is $15 Amazon gift card. Winner is selected by number of votes they have received. Entry deadline is the last day of current month.
FreeKidsCrafts.com: This is a monthly contest; kids ages 3-12 may create an original craft made from basic craft or household items and enter by submitting a photo. Four contributors chosen to win $50 in free craft materials.
CelebratingArt: Contest is for kids in grades K-12, with four contest divisions by age. $5000 in prizes will be awarded to teachers and students. Entry deadline is August 22nd. Teachers can submit students art and students can submit their own artwork.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards: This is an annual contest; submissions for 2014 will begin in September 2013 (start preparing now!). Contest is open to kids in grades 7-12, who are in the U.S., Canada, or an American school abroad. Awards and prizes are varied; for details, click here.
"Save the Frogs" Frogs Art Contest: This art contest is held annually; submission period for 2013 is from January 15 through October 15th. People of all ages and nationalities may enter this contest. Grand prize includes $100 cash or check, $75 of frog merchandise from website, and lots more!
Mystery Build Art Contest: This is an annually held contest. Only those age 18 and older from the USA and Canada may enter; per the website, those under the age of 18 who wish to enter may have someone who is 18 complete the entry for them. Participants must purchase a "mystery build" kit for $38 that will contain approximately 5 lbs. of various building materials and then use it to create something. There are 21 different cash prizes for this art contest ranging from $5000 to $200. Entries are on or before October 20, 2013.
Worldwide Kids Drawings: This is a biannual kid's art contest: first contest is from January through June; second contest runs from July through December. Drawings must be original and not traced or copied. First place is $1000, Second Place is $500 and Third place is $250. A submission fee of $5.00 is required. Contest is judged in three categories: ages 6-8, ages 9-12, and ages 13-17.
American Academy of Pediatrics 9th Annual Children's Art Contest: This is an international art contest open to kids in grades 3 through 12, with judging in three age groups. This year's theme is "A World Free From Tobacco and Secondhand Smoke". Each first place winner will receive $500 and up to $1000 towards travel related expenses to Orlando, Florida for the AAP National Conference and Exhibition. Entries must be received by July 31, 2013.
National Fossil Day 2013 Art and Photography Contest: Contest is open to all kids ages 18 and under in the USA. Submit an original artwork or digital photograph by October 4th, 2013. Prizes not specified.
National PTA Refections Contest: Annual contest; kids in grades K-12 may enter in several different categories, including visual arts, dance choreography, photography, film/video production, musical composition and literature. Contest ends in November. Check website for updates on 2013-2014 theme.
